Climate Change: Hope in Action through the Arts

We will present a variety of climate action stories as told through the lens of courage and hope using the arts of dance and storytelling. The event will include a short dance piece (15 minutes) on the topic of Climate Action, followed by a reflection and a Q&A with the Artistic Director, as well as a Storytelling Panel with stories of Hope in Action on the topic of Climate which will be followed by a shared discussion and Q&A with the Panelists. JPIC Framework of Priorities & Action Plan 2012-13

The JPIC Core Committee has developed a new way to present its annual Framework of Priorites and Action Plan. A Diagram now captures our work in imagery to better facilitate an understanding of what we do. The JPIC 2012-13 Action Plan is closely linked to that of the CND Social Justice Network and is inviting us to adopt eco-justice as the lens through which we approach all of our work. Take Action to for Justice for Refugees in Canada

On June 30th, Refugees will face drastic cuts to their Health Insurance. Children will no longer be able to get their asthma medications. Diabetics will no longer be able to take their insulin. National Action Plan on Human Trafficking

On June 6, the announcement of a National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking was made today by Minister Vic Toews and Minister Ambrose in Ottawa, Minister Blaney in Montreal and MP Joy Smith in Surrey, BC. Read more about National Action Plan on Human Trafficking

May Visit to the Atlantic Region by Monica Lambton

JPIC Coordinator, Monica Lambton, was in the Atlantic region May 6 - 13 with visits to Woodstock and Miramichi in NB, Charlottetown (Notre Dame Convent) and at the Small Plot in NS where I met with Sisters and Associates in the Pictou-New Glasgow area.
